The Wick presents:
Wendy Davis Keynote Speech
Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 7:30 p.m.
Wendy Davis? You know, the Democrat from Fort Worth, Texas who stood for eleven hours to filibuster a bill in the Texas State Senate that would place new restrictions on abortion clinics and ban all abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. Beginning adulthood as a young, single mother who escaped poverty and became the first college graduate in her family, Davis's early-life experiences shape her work in politics today. Come hear her speak as part of the Women's Center series for the Roe v. Wade Anniversary Commemoration!
Co-sponsored by the Dean of the College, Sewanee Dems, the Departments of History, Politics, and Women's & Gender Studies
